Essential Person

An essential person is someone whose presence, actions, and values positively impact others and create an environment of respect, trust, and admiration. They are a natural leader who inspires, guides, and motivates others with their integrity, wisdom, and empathy. Being an essential person not only involves being competent in what we do but also cultivating genuine relationships and being a role model in all aspects of life. It is about being a positive influence that contributes to the well-being and growth of those around us.

Essential Person

Becoming an essential person—someone who is respected, admired, and desired in all aspects of life, whether in personal, professional, or relational contexts—requires a profound transformation based on solid principles and wisdom. The Bible, as a spiritual and moral guide, offers key teachings that enable us to become that exemplary person that everyone desires to have close, whether at work, in personal relationships, or even as a partner.

Cultivate a Humble and Servant Heart
Humility is one of the foundational pillars of being an essential person. Jesus himself taught about the importance of serving others and putting their needs above our own. In Matthew 23:11-12, Jesus says: “The greatest among you will be your servant. Those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” A leader distinguished by humility is not arrogant nor seeking personal glory, but is willing to serve and do good without expecting a reward.

Being someone that everyone wants to have close begins with an attitude of genuine service. By practicing humility, we are able to listen to others, recognize their needs, and support them without seeking our own exaltation.

Be an Example of Integrity and Honesty
Integrity is the foundation of solid leadership and lasting relationships. Proverbs 12:1 teaches us: “Whoever loves discipline loves wisdom, but whoever hates correction is foolish.” Being an integral person means always acting in accordance with righteous principles, without compromising our values for convenience. People are drawn to those who are consistent, reliable, and transparent in their words and actions.

An exemplary leader is someone who keeps their promises, acts with justice, and makes decisions based on what is right, not what is easy. This authenticity generates respect and trust from others, both in professional and personal spheres.

Develop Empathy and Unconditional Love
Empathy is key to being someone everyone wants to have close. 1 Peter 3:8 teaches us: “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.” To be a leader and an inspiring person, we need to be able to put ourselves in others’ shoes, understand their struggles and concerns, and offer unconditional support.

Love, in its purest form, is the key to building genuine and lasting relationships. An exemplary leader not only leads from authority but also from understanding and love for the people around them.

Practice Wisdom and Discernment
In James 1:5, we are invited to ask God for wisdom: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” To be an essential person, it is important to make wise decisions based on divine direction. Wisdom not only involves knowing what to do at the right moment but also being able to discern the intentions and motivations of the people around us.

Being a wise leader doesn’t mean having all the answers, but knowing when to listen, when to speak, and when to act. Wisdom translates into patience, the ability to handle conflicts gracefully, and the skill to guide others on the right path, even in difficult times.

Practice Forgiveness and Reconciliation
The ability to forgive and reconcile is fundamental to creating healthy and lasting relationships. Ephesians 4:32 teaches us: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Resentment and unforgiveness destroy relationships, while forgiveness allows the restoration of peace and unity.

To be a person everyone wants to have close, we must be quick to forgive, recognizing that we are all imperfect and in need of God’s grace. By forgiving others, we also cultivate a heart free of resentment and filled with peace.

Be a Good Communicator and Listen Actively
An exemplary leader is also a good communicator. Proverbs 15:23 says: “A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—and how good is a timely word!” Communicating clearly and lovingly is vital to building effective relationships. This includes knowing when to speak, how to express our thoughts, and how to actively listen to others.

Good communication also means being sensitive to others’ needs and being able to offer words that build and strengthen, rather than harm or criticize.

Be Faithful in the Small Things
Faithfulness in small things is essential to gaining the respect and trust of others. Luke 16:10 says: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” If we want people to trust and respect us, we must be responsible and reliable, even in the smallest details.

People prefer to surround themselves with those who are consistent, responsible, and do not have a double standard. Faithfulness in daily actions builds a reputation for reliability and respect.

Be a Good Model of Faith and Hope
To be a person everyone wants to have close and respects, we must be a model of faith, hope, and resilience. Philippians 4:13 says: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Living with unwavering faith in God, trusting His plan for our lives, and maintaining hope in the midst of difficulties not only gives us strength but also inspires others to follow our example.

A spiritual leader knows that, despite facing challenges, they have firm hope in God, and that hope is transmitted to others through their actions and attitudes.

Conclusion

Becoming an essential person is not achieved overnight. It requires a constant commitment to personal and spiritual growth. Through humility, wisdom, unconditional love, patience, effective communication, and faith in God, we can transform ourselves into exemplary people, leaders who inspire others, and human beings that everyone desires to have close. The Bible’s call is clear: follow God’s ways, live with integrity and love, and be a reflection of His light in the world. When we do this, we become that desired leader, that essential person who makes a significant difference in the lives of others.
